5 day/4 night Safari to Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks, and the Ngorongoro Crater.
 
This is a guaranteed departure with 4 clients signed up already.  Please contact us for pricing.  You need to be in Arusha/Moshi area the day prior to this safari since it leaves in the morning on September 29.  We can arrange lodging for you before or after the safari if desired (extra cost).  Also, you are welcome to come 2-3 days early if you want to be part of a volunteer service project some group members are planning prior to the safari - tentatively for water supply at a local primary school.
 

Sept 29, 2010  Drive 2-3 hours to Lake Manyara National Park at the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment - the visible edge of the Great Rift Valley. A variety of wildlife live here, including the elusive tree-climbing lions.   Afternoon game drive inside Lake Manyara Park.  Shop for souvenirs in Mto wa Mbu village market if desired.  Overnight at Bougainvillea Lodge.  www.bougainvillealodge.net

 

Sept 30  Game drive en route to your camp in Serengeti National Park.  The wildlife viewing and the scenary are fascinating as you ascend into the Ngorongoro Highlands, drive along the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater (saving the Crater game drive for a later day), and then drive out onto the great Serengeti Plains.  Overnight in a seasonal tented camp in the midst of Serengeti's nature.  Tents are comfortable with attached toilet/shower (camping/self-contained type) and a central family-style mess tent. 

Oct 1  Game drive, exploring Serengeti National Park.  Overnight same camp.

Oct 2  Very early departure for Ngorongoro Crater are and game drive inside the Crater. Overnight at Bougainvillea Lodge.

Oct 3   Return to Arusha and Usa River village.  Lunch en route.  Shop for souvenirs, gifts, art, colorful local fabrics, etc.  Return to Kilimanjaro International Airport for evening flights home (or, stay on for Zanzibar).
